Indian designers show their support for wildlife at The Animal Ball 2019

The Animal Ball celebrates the most endangered wildlife on the planet—and this year, the fundraising event will be held on June 19 in London. An initiative by the Elephant Family (which aims to protect Asian elephants and their natural habitat), the annual charity ball will see over 20 iconic fashion houses and labels participate to raise awareness for animal conservation. Representing India are couturiers Sabyasachi MukherjeeAnita Dongre and Gaurav Gupta, who have each designed animal-themed masks that will be worn by the guests attending The Animal Ball 2019.

For his mask, Mukherjee has borrowed inspiration from his favourite animal, the Royal Bengal Tiger—which also happens to be his label’s logo.

Dongre’s exquisitely-designed mask pays homage to the majestic elephant (her fashion house’s emblem), and features motifs that are reminiscent of her bridal lehengas.
